Do we want this newsletter?

In my experience over the last year and a half, I have noticed that there are few unsolicited submissions for Renaissance. If I do not make an effort to ask people to share their viewpoints and announcements made via computer (such as the World Organization information printed here last year), there is little to print. I am beginning to wonder whether we as a group need and want a quarterly newletter. Announcements of upcoming events could just as well be sent out with the membership roster, or mailed directly. I am also wondering if the PCA/CCT email network now meets the needs the Renaissance once met (for connection and debate?) for those who are electronically blessed.

If we as a group are concerned with costs (postage and printing), this would be a good topic for discussion at the next annual meeting. This newsletter is only as useful and as vibrant as we as a group choose to make it; for it to be a stimulating, thought-provoking issue requires the effort of members who are willing to speak their minds. If those who want to speak feel better met on the internet, then perhaps the costs of this newsletter need to be reconsidered.
